Fenham Falcons
developing girls football in Newcastle
Falcons F.C.

Fenham Falcons is a new girls football club playing in the Northumberland Women and Girls Football League. The girls will be playing in theĀ Under-12 Premiership in the 2008-09 season - the first season for this highly ambitious, new club based in Fenham, Newcastle.

A 7-a-side team of promising young girl footballers who play the sport as it should be played...with a smile on their faces! Combining talent, determination and a love of the sport these girls look destined for success in the coming seasons.

The team is mainly made up of ex-English Martyrs' Primary School players - a team that enjoyed great success last season under coach Andy Hayes. The team were runners-up in a 64 team North East competition, won the Northumberland County Cup and went to Blackburn to play in the Northern Regional Finals. This success attracted media attention and the girls appeared in local newspapers (Evening Chronicle and The Northern Cross) as well asĀ local (Tyne Tees) and national (Setanta Sports) television.

With the majority of this team now playing for the Falcons, hopes are high that this success can be repeated.
